Makerere University, through its College of Education and External Studies Centre for Lifelong Learning, has officially launched the Makerere University Kagadi Study Centre in the Kagadi district.
The launch ceremony was officiated by Dr. Kaleb Magara, a lecturer at Makerere University, representing Dr. Oscar Mugula, the Makerere University National Coordinator.
The event took place at Kagadi Modal Primary School Premises in Kagadi town council, where the Kagadi Study Centre is located.
Dr. Magara announced that the Kagadi Study Centre will initially offer a three-month certificate course in Administrative Law through a weekend program.
The course, which officially commenced on March 2rd, 2024, aims to enhance the capacity of professionals, technical officers, administrative and managerial cadres, as well as outstanding qualified employees of local and urban authorities, among others.
He invited interested individuals to collect admission forms from their offices located at Kagadi Modal Primary School, with a fee of UGX 50,000.
He emphasised that the Kagadi Study Centre will have concurrent intakes.
In response to the initiative, students expressed gratitude to Makerere University for bringing academic services closer to Kagadi and the surrounding districts.
They noted that it will facilitate the enhancement of their academic knowledge and skills.
Emmanuel Abigaba, the head teacher of Kagadi Modal Primary School and a student himself, highlighted the significance of such initiatives for leaders aiming to enhance their leadership roles.
